The ingredients mixed into the paper pulp reflect the rich history of my family's home country, Grenada. From its original Amerindian inhabitants, who cultivated the local vegetation, to the enslaved West Africans in the 18th century, who introduced traditional stews and one-pot meals, to the golden spices of turmeric and saffron brought by South Asian indentured migrants in the 19th century, each element tells a part of our story.
