Sense Memory Works is a series of handmade paper assemblages incorporating ingredients from my Grenadian family recipes. Much like preparing a meal, I carefully chop, measure, and combine all the components before adding them to the paper pulp. These recipes, passed down through generations on my maternal line, resemble cherished heirlooms. Each piece of paper is a textured artwork that evokes the multisensory experience of watching my mother, aunts, and grandmothers prepare meals during my childhood. The flavors and aromas of these dishes are embedded in the fibers of the paper, creating a tangible archive of my family’s culinary traditions.
